Every music genre is characterized by a unique style and specific instrumentation. For Canadian guitarist &  jazz vocalist Chantal Chamberland her sensuous, smoky voice is her trademark instrument.

Chantal’s stylistic eclecticism comes naturally. She cut her musical teeth singing rock in Montreal bars (while still underage), then gained prominence in an acoustic folk­rock duo that shared stages with the likes of Barenaked Ladies and Sarah McLachlan.
 

After taking a break to reassess her musical direction, she discovered her passion for Jazz. Her latest album, No. 5, Chamberland culled together a collection of deeply personal songs by some of the music industry’s most respected songwriters, recorded by artists who continue to inspire the chanteuse in her life and career.
